Classes
Primary
Thursday 4:00 to 4:50 pm. This exploratory level is the foundation for the child’s future development of more advanced dance skills. The young dancers learn to cultivate graceful lines and develop musical sensitivity. It’s fun getting to act roles and stretch the imagination using various images
Beginner
Friday 5:00 to 6:15 pm Students learn basic elements of ballet technique with never ending attention to body alignment and balance. The children learn short choreographic works describing a story. At the end of classes, children are given props and music to improvise
Intermediate Level
Tuesday & Thursday 5:00 to 6:30 pm . The training involves the whole body, in particular the flexibility of the upper back and turn out from the hip join. As the students gain strength, pointe work is introduced. Character dance and ballet history are added into the curriculum. Students join the LB Trainee Performing Company.
Advanced Level- Junior and Senior
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday and Thursday 6:30 to 8:00 Technique classes with pointe work followed by stretching are offered daily. The choreographic combinations increase in speed and complexity. The performing repertoire includes world classics as well as original new works Theatrical Performances are scheduled throughout the year. Summer Intensive Studies additionally include History, “Stage Appeal”, Daily Rehearsals for a major Ballet Production
Open Classes for teens and adults
The open classes are ideal for the individual (ages 12 to adult) who has taken Theater Dance, Gymnastics, Skating or for someone who is returning after a long interruption. These classes can benefit anyone who wishes to gain strength and grace or simply become a better dancer.
